yes, i've been busy lately while trying to keep to my obligations. here's how it is, if the task is not on the agenda on my phone, my phone's to-do list, or in one of my various notepads that i carry on me close to 95% of the time. i have a good chance of forgetting it.
one of the few exceptions to the above is exercising. with the office competition looming over my head, my goal is to not lose the most or least weight in this contest. why don't i want to lose the most weight you ask? it's because the person who loses the least weight would owe my $20. see, i'm no longer a gambler. AMEN!
a good thing to note is that being a gambler and someone who does not like to lose is a horrible mix. why am i part of this competition then? well, i wanted to interact with office mates (at my location) who i generally only see via e-mail, the break room when grabbing some water, or at the end of the day in passing when making a dash to my ride home.
i never thought i'd be one of THOSE people that are working most the time. the good news is that i also dedicate quite a bit of time to my friends and my church. now the question is this, do i need or want alone time? i'm thinking that the answer to that question may be a resounding yes.
an example as to how i came to the above conclusion: in the picture below, to the right of my laptop is a water container. now, in the corner of my eye, i see a beta (fighter fish) in there. :o
yep, i even see the imaginary fish in that picture.
i've found a place where i can relax and for my alone time, it's not exactly going to be spent alone per se. there's something my father and i would do together when i was i was in the early years of college and that was going to tech conferences. we were trying to figure out what i'd want to do and excel at if i was to go into "tech." thinking back on it, he was just going for the swag and possibly to spend time with me. what ill be doing is going to be happening at the middle of the week in San Francisco. I'll be attending the
Dreamforce conference put on my
Salesforce. This is a huge deal and I look forward to hearing the keynote speaker, looking at the newly announced add-ons that will be coming out to assist companies with their personalization of this CRM (customer relationship management) solution, and networking. i happen to know some people who will be working at the event and showcasing what they have to bring to the table. oh my goodness... i think my geek just leaked on my blog.
let's analyze this for a second. my geek seems to get a little professional with its writing. as i turn geek, i actually use caps. i wonder if the gamer geek in me does the same. that's something to ponder. wow, i took a day off to spend at an industry conference. in addition to the event, i'll be in a perfect position to head off to church afterward and dressed up to boot. ^_^
