imaginative or just losing it? is personal time needed?

yes, i've been busy lately while trying to keep to my obligations.  here's how it is, if the task is not on the agenda on my phone, my phone's to-do list, or in one of my various notepads that i carry on me close to 95% of the time.  i have a good chance of forgetting it.

one of the few exceptions to the above is exercising.  with the office competition looming over my head, my goal is to not lose the most or least weight in this contest.  why don't i want to lose the most weight you ask?  it's because the person who loses the least weight would owe my $20.  see, i'm no longer a gambler. AMEN!

a good thing to note is that being a gambler and someone who does not like to lose is a horrible mix.  why am i part of this competition then?  well, i wanted to interact with office mates (at my location) who i generally only see via e-mail, the break room when grabbing some water, or at the end of the day in passing when making a dash to my ride home.

i never thought i'd be one of THOSE people that are working most the time.  the good news is that i also dedicate quite a bit of time to my friends and my church. now the question is this, do i need or want alone time?  i'm thinking that the answer to that question may be a resounding yes.

an example as to how i came to the above conclusion:  in the picture below, to the right of my laptop is a water container.  now, in the corner of my eye, i see a beta (fighter fish) in there.  :o

yep, i even see the imaginary fish in that picture.

i've found a place where i can relax and for my alone time, it's not exactly going to be spent alone per se.  there's something my father and i would do together when i was i was in the early years of college and that was going to tech conferences. we were trying to figure out what i'd want to do and excel at if i was to go into "tech."  thinking back on it, he was just going for the swag and possibly to spend time with me. what ill be doing is going to be happening at the middle of the week in San Francisco.  I'll be attending the Dreamforce conference put on my Salesforce.  This is a huge deal and I look forward to hearing the keynote speaker, looking at the newly announced add-ons that will be coming out to assist companies with their personalization of this CRM (customer relationship management) solution, and networking.  i happen to know some people who will be working at the event and showcasing what they have to bring to the table.  oh my goodness... i think my geek just leaked on my blog.

let's analyze this for a second.  my geek seems to get a little professional with its writing.  as i turn geek, i actually use caps.  i wonder if the gamer geek in me does the same. that's something to ponder.  wow, i took a day off to spend at an industry conference.  in addition to the event, i'll be in a perfect position to head off to church afterward and dressed up to boot. ^_^

thanking God for keeping me busy

with so many things that would normally take a person down, God has kept throwing me reasons as to why i need to keep on going.  he's kept me busy enough to where i don't have time to feel sorry for myself and it's a marvelous thing.  i made it through what would've been a 9 year anniversary, living in a hotel, finding ways to get myself to church in san francisco via public transportation in my wheelchair.

don't believe me?  below are just some pics of my saturday and that's not including my trip down market street, the actual car wash, or the church service.

here's a lil blurry peek from the platform of the subway / BART station.

a beautiful san francisco day looking out from the front of our church. i was there helping with the car wash fundraiser for our trip to africa.  ^_^

an awesome evening with friends at fort point (next to the golden gate bridge)

    me? a busy, busy workaholic?

growing  up, i never thought this would be me.  i thought i'd be able to go home, listen to some opera & classical music, while doing some awe inspiring reads. it's amazing how things change as we get older and pick up our smartphones to be sure we are making the most of our day.  sadly enough, my today screen looks flooded with appointments but it does not show which plans in there fell through. :*(

i am very pleased to say that not all the activities on my calendar are job related.  i believe a significant amount of it is due to helping out at San Francisco Glad Tidings (GTSF).  right now things are hectic with the holidays coming around and me without a home for me and the mandaboo.

    what happened over the weekend.

#1 - i realized i missed scheduling an appointment to go in for my treatment... i think the double vision gave it away.
#2 - attended a Toastmasters regional competition and it was quite the experience. i got to take notes for me to reference for future speeches.
#3 - spent all day at GT and i don't mind it much at all... in fact, i believe going as often as i do, my character seems to be getting enhanced.  AMEN!
#4 - mentioned it to the head pastor that i am interested in being a part of the missionary team on the way to Africa
#5 - spent a few hours after GT's second service assisting with the holiday decorations.
#6 - did some catch-up with my cousin who has been living in Germany for the past few years with her husband and little one.  she's back in the States.  hoorah!
